OnBase 6.4 Delivers Enhanced User Functionality

Hyland Software has announced the availability of OnBase 6.4, which offers extended functionality through a number of new modules. They include:

• Archive Services for Microsoft SharePoint® - Provides advanced repository services that improve the performance of SharePoint document libraries along with additional support for compliance, retention and disaster recovery requirements.
• Integration for WSRP - Supports the Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) 1.0 standard, enabling users to deliver any Web Server portlet to J2EE portals such as IBM WebSphere®, BEA WebLogic® and SAP NetWeaver®.
• Public Sector Constituency Web Access – Creates public access solutions for government agencies to securely deliver online self-service access to public records through a wide variety of Web browsers.
• Integration for Microsoft BizTalk® - Leverages the messaging capabilities of OnBase Web Services to update keysets, archive documents, create e-forms, save InfoPath® forms, update documents and obtain document data.
• Encrypted CD/DVD Publishing - Provides a secure way for organisations, to transfer sensitive personal and financial information via CD/DVD media, adding an additional layer of security to protect OnBase documents and databases stored or transported on CD/DVD media and preventing sensitive information from being viewed by unauthorised users.
• Barcode Face Sheet Generation for HL7 - Captures information from an HL7 message and uses it to create a unique barcode cover sheet for each patient chart to automate the capture of specific patient information as documents are being digitally scanned into an ECM repository.

OnBase 6.4 also provides the following enhancements to existing functionality:

• Java^TM Web Client - Enables information workers in markets such as higher education, where demand for Macintosh®-enabled solutions is significant, with simple access to a limited set of OnBase content management and Workflow functionality from within their preferred user environment.
• Document Composition for Microsoft Word - now accommodates automated high-volume document creation that can be driven by Workflow and executed on multiple machines.
• WorkView – It is now easier and more intuitive to create powerful WorkView solutions with simple to configure WorkView views and support for “ObjectPop” to create links directly to specific WorkView objects.
• A third-generation Workflow Simulator – Simulates Workflow activities and create what-if scenarios to test the expected results of an automated process.
• CAD Services - Can now be used to perform mark-ups of CAD drawings over the Web as well as through the Client.
